New CD-ROM software makes the journey of learning fun for 3 to 11 year olds
Fifteen new software titles on CD-ROM are released by The Big Bus at BETT 2006. Covering a range of subjects for ages 3 to 11, they are designed to provide the very best in interactive education software.
The new CDs include Can you Help?, a topic-based adventure for 3 to 5 year olds about people who help us. From sorting the bottles of dye for Harry the Hairdresser to helping Rachel recycle items according to the materials they are made from, this is an engaging and rewarding title.
In Bo Bear Visits Friends, join Bo as she helps Goldilocks bake a cake. Work with a full range of comparatives as they find the biggest, longest, thickest materials and tools for the job. Choose the appropriate bowl, spoon and other items according to the instructions in this fun and rewarding adventure for 3 to 7 year olds.
For 6 to 11 year olds, Newspaper Office is a ‘who dunnit’ adventure with several word comprehension activities. Names have to be sorted into alphabetical order, the correct homophone must be chosen from a list and an antonym crossword needs to be completed. Only then will there be sufficient clues to catch the culprit.
With Earth, Moon and Sun explore why we have day and night and why the Moon has phases. Providing a thorough coverage of the relationship between the Earth, the Moon and the Sun, this CD is packed with useful information and animated explanations to make it easier to understand and teach these difficult concepts.
Other Worlds, a challenging adventure into time for 9 to 11 year olds, provides a great opportunity to explore simulations and develop thinking skills through mathematics. Solve combination locks, fire grenade launchers, unbolt an undersea city from the seabed and repair a powerful laser gun on the way to rescuing Professor Brain.
Fully supported with printable resources, curriculum references and lesson plans the new CD-ROMs are available now at only £59.95 each for a school site licence. The Big Bus range is approved by Curriculum Online for spend using eLCs.
