Has maths for 5 to 11 year olds ever been so much fun?

The Maths Race is launched by The Big Bus at BETT 2006. Designed specifically for use on Interactive Whiteboards, The Maths Race is a highly motivating way to encourage practising times tables and mental maths.

Enter a whole new world of competition with quick-fire times tables and mental maths tests. Taking the graphic form of a race track, times table factors from 1 to 12 can be set and the speed of delivery may be adjusted to suit the needs of the child. Mental maths, which includes the flexibility to use any combination of all four number operations, can be tailored to suit all abilities.

On an Interactive Whiteboard The Maths Race can be played by up to four players against each other, or in two teams, as well as by one player against the computer. Has maths ever been such fun and encouraged so much participation?

Pupils at Theale Primary School in West Berks absolutely love The Maths Race. One Year 2 pupil, writing a letter of thanks to The Big Bus after playing it on their SMART Board, said “It charges my brain up. It is very good for me and my friend. When I play it it makes my legs wiggle.”

The Maths Race is approved by SMART for use with SMART Boards. The Maths Race is available on CD-ROM for £59.95 for a full school site licence. It is also included in the new Spring 2006 release of The Big Bus Learning Worlds Subscription Service.
